Choir
We are fortunate in boasting an S.A.T.B. choir which sings at least once a Sunday and usually twice on the first Sunday in the month. Besides preparation for hymns, worship songs and an anthem each week we also rehearse music for major festivals, including Easter, Advent and Christmas Carol Services, the annual All Souls’ Service, and weddings. As we have built up a large repertoire over the years, and because of other commitments, we only meet for an hour before a service
If you would be interested in joining us, if even only for special occasion. please contact Chris on 07971 275 039 & email Choir-Director@outlook.com
The Name is Bond.
Chris Bond is our new Director of Music and organist at Christ Church.

Chris has been in and around church choirs since he was big enough to sit next to his father, Ron, on the organ bench. He started as a chorister at St Matthew's Church, Surbiton, at the age of six, progressing through to the tenor ranks when his voice broke. Chris began playing the piano at the age of five, passing his practical and theory exams through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and playing at the Kingston, Croydon, and Richmond music festivals. He moved on to playing the organ and started playing for services and leading choirs at the age of fourteen. His posts to date are Acting Director of Music at St Mary Magdelene, Richmond, Director of Music at Waltham St Lawrence, Director of Music at St Mary, Worplesdon, Organist at St Nicholas, Hurst, and Associate Organist at St Margaret's, Iver Heath. Chris has sung with the choir Poscimur at many cathedrals in England. This along with his other musical experiences hugely influenced his decision to form his own choir Te Decet Hymnus (meaning You are praised) in 2018. The choir sings as a visiting choir in English cathedrals and currently has forty-nine members. The choir has hosted concerts and raised over £1,000 for local charities last year. You can follow the choir on their Facebook page. Outside of the musical world, Chris works for Reading Buses as Schedules Manager and his interests are Tottenham Hotspur FC, classic cars, dogs, wine, and comedy. He lives in Camberley and is a proud father to Harry, Adam, Oscar and Imogen, and grandfather to Finley. Chris looks forward very much to being the new Organist and Director of Music at Christ Church. And we are delighted he will be joining the team!
Our Sunday 10am services are now fully musical with organ voluntaries, hymns and choir anthems and we look forward to resuming monthly Evensong after Christmas.
