Quiet time for prayer and reflection
We try to offer some time and space at least once a term for reflection, rest and refreshment. We meet in the Jubilee Room but the Church and our lovely grounds offer ample space for private prayer and reflection abut our speaker's presentations. Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day - so you only have to bring a packed lunch. And if you have other commitments in the early afternoon (eg to pick up children from nursery or school), you are still very welcome to attend the morning sessions. The day is free but to assist our planning it is helpful if you can book your place with the Vicar. If you have never participated on a quiet day before but would like to chat about what it involves, please do not hesitate to contact Sally (firstname.lastname@example.org or 01483 892030).
Our next Quiet day will be in the autumn. Please continue to check what's on for the confirmed date.
Our most recent quiet day was on Wednesday, 11 July 2018. This was on St Benedict's Day and Canon Dr Andrew Norman, Rector of St Nicolas, Guildford, based his reflections and prayers around a recently published book "The way of Silence" by Brother Steindl-Rast OSB. In addition to participants from Shamley Green, we welcomed people from Cranleigh, Wonersh and Guildford, who all enjoyed this experience.
