Shamley Green History Society
We are one of the oldest societies in the village, which offers interesting monthly talks and occasional visits to local buildings of architectural interest.
At present we have close to 100 members but newcomers are always welcome. The annual subscription is £10 per person or £15 per couple. All our talks are held at the Arbuthnot Hall, Shamley Green, at 2.30 p.m. and we also have a Social Lunch for members every January.
Our Chairman is Michael Harding, and more information about us can be found on our notice board outside the shop, and in the Parish Magazine. For membership application forms, please contact Secretary vesplen@talktalk.net tel. 01483 892902, or Treasurer nrusselldavis@compuserve.com.
Following our AGM in February 2023,, our new season begins on March 29th with a talk entitled ‘The Changing Face of Local Villages’, Then ‘The Story of Dunsfold Aerodrome’ is scheduled for 27th April and ‘Lewis Carroll in Guildford, Oxford and Russia’ will be on 31st May.
